Abstract
Sulphur dioxide emissions may be estimated from the precise consumption statistics available for most commercial fuels coupled with a knowledge of their sulphur contents. Three examples are discussed here; the sulphur contents of petroleum fuels in the UK, diesel (derv) fuels worldwide and jet fuels worldwide.
