Abstract
The concerns about global warming, the greenhouse effect and increasing carbon dioxide emissions from fossil fuel burning have not led to a boost for nuclear power. Nuclear power could provide massive amounts of electrical power without creating carbon dioxide emissions. Unfortunately for the nuclear power industry, the political-economic mix is against expansion of nuclear power. Demand for uranium is forecast to be at the 60 000 tonnes uranium p.a. level through to the year 2010.
