Abstract
New Zealand's energy market has a major challenge ahead. The stakes are very high. If players do not act rationally and intelligently, New Zealand could miss a significant opportunity for at least fifty years if not for all time. Conversely, if we succeed, the benefits for all will be enormous. I am talking about the replacement of the Maui field. I am here today to let you know that the petrochemical industry is ready to do whatever it can, not only for its own sake but for New Zealand.
