Retraction: Dynamic characteristics and safety analysis of drill strings in deepwater open hole drilling

Author Huang Fangfei contacted Sage with a request to retract their article due to concerns over overlap with another publication ¹ .

An internal investigation concluded the following:

1. Fig. 2 appears highly similar to Fig. 3¹

2. Fig. 3 appears highly similar to Fig. 7¹

3. Fig. 5 appears highly similar to Fig. 13¹

4. Fig. 6 appears highly similar to Fig. 14¹

5. Fig. 7 appears highly similar to Fig. 15¹

6. Fig. 9 appears highly similar to Fig. 18¹

7. Fig. 10 appears similar to Fig. 20¹

8. Fig. 11 appears similar to Fig. 21¹

9. Fig. 12 appears highly similar to Fig. 23¹

10. Fig. 14 appears highly similar to Fig. 26¹

11. Fig. 15 appears highly similar to Fig. 29¹

12. Fig. 16 appears similar to Fig. 30¹

The authors clarified that the overlap had been the result of a collaboration between the author groups of the two publications.

During an internal investigation, Sage has also become aware of attempts to manipulate the peer review process.

Due to concerns around the integrity of the research process and concerns over image integrity Sage and the Journal Editor retract this article.

The authors did not respond when notified of the retraction.
