The equations and procedures used to calculate the psychrometric properties of air-water vapour mixtures in the current CIBSE Guide are reviewed. The psychrometric data determined in this way are considered in the light of recent work on the subject and compared with similar psychrometric properties published in the ASHRAE Handbook: Fundamentals (1989). It is concluded that there is little to be gained by extensive revision to the current data in the CIBSE Guide and it is recommended that these data be retained but that the descriptive pages preceding the data should be updated and corrected where necessary.
