Abstract
During construction it is commonplace for conflicts to occur between building services systems and the finishing works. These have three main causes, design, co-ordination or procedural. This paper presents a co-ordination cube model for classifying design and co-ordination problems. The model may be used at both project level and corporate levels to monitor problems and to assist in the prevention of future conflicts. Its flexibility allows for the easy extension and breakdown of information to the level of detail required by management. The model has been used to analyse data from a major design-and-build firm.
