Abstract
A simple analysis is presented which calculates the best location of differential pressure sensing and control for large variable-votume-flow secondary water systems. The condition addressed is when the pressure drop across the coils at full load is very small compared with the pressure drops across the supply and return mains. The purpose of putting the sensor at the best location is to make valve authorities of control valves as high as possible, and the associated benefit is a reduced pumping head.
