Abstract
The services requirements for meat processing plants include refrigeration, hot water and team. The by-products section generates a large amount of waste heat. These systems are usually designed piecemeal and in isolation by specialists. The paper aims to integrate and systematise plant design to meet the energy requirement in an optimal way, taking into account all usable sources of waste heat.
