The estimation of ground-reflected radiation is reviewed. Using published data, albedo-related monthly maps for the snow season in the United Kingdom are presented. Albedo values for different dominant surfaces during the snow-free period and for the snow season are recommended. Use of the proposed straightforward procedure should improve the estimation of ground-reflected radiation on inclined and vertical surfaces.
