Abstract
The present paper proposes a time-limited play therapy (TLPT) for children. In the TLPT, children are given the opportunity to express themselves through free play in the presence of a sympathetic non-intruding adult. A positive relationship is built in a limited number of sessions, and the child is confronted, from the very start, with inevitable separation. The curative effect of play, the time-limited relationship with the adult and the working-through of separation are aimed at enhancing the child's ability for self-expression and interpersonal relations.
