In the early childhood years, testing is now commonplace in schools. With a focus on the need to achieve meaningful and humanistic assessments of young children, many issues and problems are presented in this article. Methods of implementing an effective screening-instruction-evaluation system are offered, with particular attention to how the system might respond to the needs of all participants.
