Abstract
This paper describes so-called random search techniques : simple, adaptive, and reinforced learning. Concerning these techniques, the studies carried out at the Research and Advanced Studies Center (Mexico), for optimal operation of biological plants, are reported. Subsequent results concerning mathematical and computational aspects- that have been under development at INTEC since 1979 - are presented. The method can be applied to complex industrial control problems for which there is no model of the process.
