Abstract
This paper presents a new method of deriving a digital algorithm to represent a given continuous transfer function. It has the advantage over other methods currently in use that computation time may be taken into account, if required, when deriving the coefficients of the algorithm. This is often necessary in on-line control, for example. The same feature makes the method especially useful when interpolation or extrapolation is needed, and when dealing with dead time.
