Abstract
This article investigates a position synchronization problem of multiple permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) systems under directed communication network. A distributed observer-based distributed position synchronization controller is proposed, which does not require the speed measurement. In particular, the multiple PMSM systems are categorized into informed and uninformed PMSM systems based on the availability of leader information. For the informed PMSM systems, the speed and exosystem state are estimated by the Luenberger observer and then the distributed position synchronization controller is developed. For the uninformed PMSM systems, the speed is estimated by the Luenberger observer and the exosystem state is estimated by the distributed observer which utilizes the observer state of neighboring PMSM systems in the communication network and then the distributed position synchronization controller is developed. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by simulation and experimental results.
