Abstract
The tracking control problem of networked control systems subject to time-varying delays, aperiodic denial-of-service (DoS) attacks, and bandwidth constraints is investigated in this article. An event-triggered predictive proportional–integral–derivative (PPID) control scheme is developed to compensate for the negative effects caused by the time-varying delays and aperiodic DoS attacks on system performance. Under the developed control scheme, a novel adaptive event-triggered mechanism is formulated to reduce the data transmission frequency and the probability of network congestion. Moreover, sufficient conditions ensuring asymptotic stability of the closed-loop system under the event-triggered PPID control scheme are derived, and the achievement of zero steady-state tracking error of the closed-loop system is mathematically verified for step reference signals. In the end, the effectiveness of the developed control scheme is demonstrated through simulation results.
