Abstract
Patients with diabetes who fail to attend the outpatient clinic is a problem in many clinics. The present report is based on an analysis of type 1 (insulin-dependent) patients who, during one year and in spite of repeated summons, never showed up on the internal medicine clinic. The investigation revealed that all of them were younger men with social problems. The study suggests that special nursing efforts are staged in situations when life crises could occure such as the onset of the disease and transfer to adult clinics.
