Abstract
Experiments indicate that rayon cord reinforced rubber (RCRR) presents nonlinear viscoelastic characteristics under either static or dynamic loading. A nonlinear viscoelastic constitutive model for RCRR in medium strain rate range is proposed. It is composed of a nonlinear differential equation with four material parameters. The experimental study on viscoelastic characteristics of RCRR for different impact speeds and temperatures was completed on special tensile impact testing equipment. A laser-grating system was designed to measure the large impact deformation. The experimental results show good agreement with the consitutive model for medium strain rate range measurements.
