The effect of different doses of gamma irradiation (3-18 Mrad) on the infrared spectra, spectral absorption in the visible region and viscosity of the known coloured sample of vinyl chloride-methylmethacrylate copolymer were studied. The atomic absorption measurements for elemental analysis revealed that the sample contains Ni, Co and Cr. The irradiation of the sample with gamma ray doses produced various changes in the IR spectra.
