Abstract
The dynamic mechanical and thermal analysis properties have been studied for the binary blends of natural rubber (NR) and bromobutyl rub ber (BIIR). The effect of various crosslinking systems such as sulfur, sulfur donor, maleimide and phenolic formaldehyde resin on physical properties and co-vulcanization of the blend have been investigated. The curative formulation retains the factor that governs formation of interfacial bonds in the co- vulcanized network structure. Dynamic mechanical analysis reveals that the blends are microhomogeneous. Thus, mechanical, thermal, and important physical properties of the polymer blend depend very much on the miscibility of the components.
