Carbon monoxide production at various tempera tures was determined for selected plastics. The yield of carbon monoxide based on initial weight generally increased with increas ing temperature. The yield of carbon monoxide based on weight loss, however, did not always increase with increasing tempera ture. Polyoxymethylene exhibited the highest yield of carbon monoxide.
