A polyol cured, ferric acetylacetonate catalyzed poly butadiene based elastomer, designated EN-8, was developed which was curable at room temperature, bonded well to aluminum and was com patible with explosives that did not contain aromatic nitro groups. The working life of this formulation could be lengthened considerably by use of acetylacetone as an inhibitor which allowed its use in certain potting applications where elevated temperature cures were prohibited.
