Abstract
A new family of TPR thermoplastic rubbers has been developed by Uniroyal Chemical These unique polymers can be processed using conventional thermoplastic processing equipment without the need for additional compounding or vulcanization. TPR has been processed by injection molding, extrusion, calendering, blow molding, and vacuum forming. Typical properties and processing behavior are presented for TPR grades commercially available. Other characteristics which are significant in determining areas of applicability are presented such as service temperature and environmental resistance. Features of TPR thermoplastic rubbers include fast molding cycles, reprocessability, wide range of use temper ature, and excellent property retention at elevated temperature
