Abstract
A new type of foam inflation for pneumatic tires has been found successful in many industrial and military applications. The foam- inflated tire concept is described in general terms and the reasons for its success are explained. Effects on tire characteristics, per formance properties and limitations, economics, and applications of the foam-inflation concept are discussed.
