Abstract
During the past 25 years, polysulfide sealants have become well known and widely used in the aircraft, marine, building, and more recently, the automotive industry. For automotive windshields, sealants must function on high speed production lines, maintain bonding power for 10 years or more, and meet new Federal Safety Specifications for glass retention. The most widely used automotive polysulfide sealant contains appropriate fillers, plasticizers, and bodying agents.
