Abstract
As an application of urethane sponge for articles of daily use, studies have been made to manufacture canvas shoe soles by the in-situ molding of carbon dioxide blown liquid urethane elastomers obtained from tolylene diisocyanate and ethylene oxide capped polypropylene ether glycol. As for the catalyst system, bis-(N,N- dimethylaminoethyl) ether in combination with triethylene diamine gave good results in this case. Canvas shoe soles have been suc cessfully made by machine. The results on the put-on test of these canvas shoes are quite satisfactory.
