Abstract
This article is a comprehensive overview of the highlights in the history of law and psychiatry. It presents a synopsis of the leading cases in various areas of law and psychiatry. The author presents the evolution of law and psychiatry in each of the areas by summaries of cases from early times to present. Brief critical comments and citations for additional study are included. The article aims to be of assistance to those studying law and psychiatry.
