Abstract
This paper was presented at the Pennsylvania Psychological Association convention in June 1988. This paper is a descriptive study and represents a statewide sample of the initial 100 admissions to a female forensic center over a three-year period. The author examines the characteristics of the women by age, race, education, marital status, nature of criminal charges, length of commitment, length of hospitalization, diagnostic categories, and final disposition. Incidences of multiple criminal charges and multiple diagnoses are reviewed.
