Abstract
With regard to medicine, conformity to the community standard no longer always satisfies the courts. Now they sometimes insist that an even higher standard be utilized. In some instances this is a standard that isn't followed by any of the best practitioners in the community. As a result, a physician who practices his art in conformity with the highest standards of his medical community still has cause to fear a successful malpractice suit.
