Abstract
Quality cannot be “inspected into a study” by auditing for conformance to good laboratory practices. In order to ensure quality, systems and procedures that incorporate quality must be put in place early, and followed throughout the experiments. The definition of quality, role of quality control and quality assurance, and implementation of quality systems and procedures are covered.
