Abstract
This paper discusses the evolution from quality control to total quality management. The total quality challenge, and the ways in which the pharmaceutical industry is meeting it, are covered. UCB Pharma's solution to the total quality challenge, which incorporates general total quality management concepts as well as components of UCB's company culture, provides an example of one solution to the total quality challenge.
