Abstract
This article considers some of the problems which can block the successful completion of a clinical research project. Many of these problems are related to the diversity of participants and perspectives which is necessarily present within the context of a clinical trial. General problems faced by the research team during the various phases of the clinical trial are discussed. Suggestions are given for structuring and conducting the trial in a way which will maximize the chance for project success.
