A Team-Based Approach to Clinical Data Processing

Abstract

Using a team approach, effectiveness and productivity can be achieved to the highest degree. We at Revlon Health Care Group have implemented a team-based approach to clinical data processing. Clinical data bases are jointly “specified” using participation from medical monitors, biostatisticians, medical writers, programmers, and coders. The amount of elapsed time to create a data base was reduced by 25%. The production of people involved in the data base creation process has increased significantly. All the groups involved are happy that they receive what they need in the data base. The knowledge-based edit reports that we use are responsible for improving the quality level of clinical data.
