Several Asian countries have begun assessing the acceptability of the extrapolation of foreign clinical data for registration purposes. Some preliminary results of this evaluation process, which is intended to reduce duplication of clinical trials, have been reported. This article presents Taiwa's experience with this assessment and provides some suggestions for further improvements.
