Abstract
The Drug Information Association (DIA) hosted its second meeting in Africa, titled “Drug Safety: A Shared Responsibility,” August 30 to September 1, 1999. Representatives of 9 African regulatory authorities, approximately 20 pharmaceutical manufacturers, and 4 academic and research institutions attended this meeting. The objective of this meeting was to set priorities for improving drug safety in Africa. A synopsis of the discussion held during this meeting is described.
