Abstract
“A Spirituality for Missionaries” seeks to justify biblically a specifically missionary spirituality consisting of four characteristics: (1) the sense of being called out from the familiar or normal; (2) the conviction of being sent to a particular place or people; (3) a highly intentional lifestyle; and (4) an eschatological orientation. These four characteristics are then applied to missionary preparation and strategy, including a proposal for the establishment of celibate orders based upon Paul's defense of celibacy in 1 Corinthians 7:25–40.
