Missionary efforts to convert a group of people from one religion to another may be impossible to justify to most people when the emphasis is on changing different religious beliefs. But if the emphasis is shifted to behavioral changes resulting from conversion, then these changes can be evaluated in terms of eight universal value categories. To the extent that there are increases in each one of these value categories due to conversion, the new religion can be justified as a better religion for the group of people in focus than its old religion.
