Abstract
Stephen Neill and Max Warren were the two leading missiologists among Anglican evangelicals of their time. Certain emphases which they struck in their writings on such issues as conversion, the importance of history for Christian theology, and the distinctiveness of Christ show them, unlike many contemporary thinkers, to have been unafraid of the so-called “scandal of particularity.”
