Using five scriptural models, Professor Brueggemann begins a dialogue, carried forward in the next two articles, on the interdisciplinary implications of the Bible and mission, stressing for us sociological aspects of Scripture study which shed light on the current contextualization of mission. With fresh insight, he uses five scripture texts as missional models, opening for us a field of metaphors which sheds perception on social reality as well as social possibility.
