Some of Africa's growing cities have witnessed the rise of voluntary associations — indigenous models focused on helping the new urbanite cope with his changed world. Missionary Hostetter believes that the established urban churches can learn from these groups. More, he feels the churches themselves should get involved in meeting particularly the social felt needs of the city immigrant, now too often met only by the secular associations.
