Abstract
Searching the Qur'an for “Christian arguments is not new. But too often it has led to fruitless polemics. Bible Society veteran (now a “re-cycled” second-career missionary pastor) Fuad Accad approaches the Qur'an and his Muslim brethren in quite a different spirit. His motive is to begin where they are. Furthermore, standing as he does somewhat closer to their thought patterns, he has looked specifically for passages that convey insights beyond traditional interpretations. In this, he finds allies among the ancient Muslim commentators. Primarily, he seeks and finds passages that point to Jesus as more than prophet and miracle-worker. But Accad's most unique contribution in this abridged paper is the door he opens by underscoring the concept of atonement in both the Qur'an and current Muslim practice. Is this the key redemptive analogy?
