Abstract
In missiology, as in all fields of learning, debate requires reaction. Such response may be supportive, or it may aim at correction, at least in part. Both are involved in the four response papers that follow. These also were presented at Dubuque last June. Like Father Monticello, each assigned “reactor” speaks from a distinctive tradition. Indeed, their backgrounds — Presbyterian, United Church of Canada, Mennonite and Pentecostal — reflect the diversity within the ASM. These responses provide a stimulating yet balanced forum on this important missiological theme.
