A Franco-African Cross-Cultural Clash

Abstract

French colonial policy and Administrators' lack of knowledge of the prerequisites for leadership in the Sabu tribe of Central Africa led to a clash between clans. Mr. Blaschke, who knew of the bitterness which had been built up between the groups, found out what had led up to it and here tells the story. Most interesting of all is the way in which the puppet chief appointed by the administration sought to defy the traditions of his fathers and acquire the real chiefly power which was in the control of the land.
