The interaction of Western Christians with the global church commonly occurs through missions. Over the years the model of working with the global church has moved from one that commonly created dependency to partnerships. Adding mutuality, when understood and practiced both biblically and culturally, to the model of the Western Christian in global service can strengthen and move relationships towards the biblical model of an intercultural body of Christ. Mutuality enables all participants to contribute, not only to the task of God’s mission, but also to the spiritual growth of all involved.
