Abstract
This article is a review of the literature on ministry transfer. Observations are included from different parts of the world. The review begins with a general overview of ministry transfer, followed by a presentation of the advantages of transfers. Then economics and mission/church structure are discussed as to their influence on the transfer of ministries. Several observers prefer partnership rather than ministry transfer; their views are also included. The reader will notice that this literature review comes from an evangelical perspective, which reflects Estes' background, and that nearly all the authors cited are evangelicals.
