This maturity-empowering model of Christian parenting integrates social science literature on parent/child relationships and a biblical model of God as parent. This model presents (a) a parenting style which evolves with and corresponds to the developing needs of children, and (b) an empowering style which assists children in progressing from dependency to self-sufficiency and maturity which enables them to empower others.
