Haule's (1983) three modes of shepherding presupposing the requirements of the individual soul and its need to find ultimacy raises the question of the possibility of integration using an anthropological theme. He properly stresses the complexity and integrity of the person, and the religious dimension of persons as well as psychology and caring. However, because his religion is oriented to ultimacy, rather than Yahweh, his model cannot adequately unify psychology and theology. Only Christ, as the Logos of God, can be adequate for this task.
