Sall (1976) made four distinctions between demon possession and psychopathology, particularly psychosis. Each of these distinctions is reviewed and found to be unnecessarily subjective, less than totally representative of the scriptural witness, or lacking in clinical precision. Analysis of the relationship between demon possession and psychopathology indicates that psychotherapy is a part of the larger ministry of the church.
