Abstract
Using four selected concepts, the authors attempt to demonstrate the destructiveness of denigrating material concerns and separating them from the spiritual. These conceptualizations are: Separateness versus Unity, Coupleness, In God's Image, and Letting Go. In describing the interplay between these permission-giving Christian concepts and the desired sexual functioning, the authors affirm the underlying essential ingredients of a therapist's unique personal value system and the enduring commitment of the covenant of marriage.
