The “Green-Grass” Revisited

Abstract

This article is submitted in response to the “green-grass” evangelicals mow job by Drs. Barber, Colwell, and Strauss in the Fall, 1975 issue of this Journal. It is presented not only as an alternative picture of Rosemead Graduate School thought, but it is also an attempt to draw attention to conciliatory possibilities between “green-grass” and “mainline” evangelical positions. Speculation about “green-grass” evangelicals being theologically or psychologically “lost” is disputed. While knowledge of true doctrine is important, active love through radical social consciousness is also advocated as thoroughly evangelical.
