The purpose of this work was to try gentamicin-PMMA beads for treating chronic osteomyelitis in the often primitive conditions in a developing country. The long-term healing of the infections compared well with that obtained by other methods. As the method is simple and less resource-demanding than earlier methods, it seems to be an excellent method for a developing country.
